Aerobús
Bus service operating between the city centre and Barcelona airport.
The systems on the Aerobús that allow access for people with reduced mobility are listed below:
- The buses tilt down towards the kerb so that wheelchair users and other people with reduced mobility can board more easily.
- They have retractable access ramps fitted with safety systems (acoustic signals and illuminated signs to let passengers know that the ramps are being lowered or raised, automatic shut-down system should the ramp come into contact with any objects or people, anchorage system in case the ramp starts moving with a person or object on it, etc.).
- A space reserved for wheelchair users, fitted with anchorage systems and correctly signed. Passengers will have to ask the driver for assistance in order to secure their wheelchair.
- Spaces reserved for other people with reduced mobility, fitted with retractable armrests and grab handles, and correctly signed.
- The reserved seats have enough space underneath for a guide dog.
The buses have the following communication systems:
- Specific devices located in the reserved seating areas and placed at the correct height so that wheelchair users and people with reduced mobility can board more easily.
- Devices outside the bus so that passengers can request access to the ramp.
- The driver announces each stop (with a microphone).
- Some types of bus don't have any Braille or tactile buttons.
- There are no specific bus stop signage systems for the blind and visually impaired.
